Story

Michael Thomas came about while having breakfast at a local cafe. During breakfast, I was asked about whether I was going to continue to teach. I then related my dream of owning a coffee shop. Promptly after presenting my dream, Tom relayed how he too had a similar dream. This would have been as far as our dreams went if it was not for my wife, she pressed the test, as we were walking and talking I asked her if she thought Tom was serious about the coffee shop idea. She said call him now. I did and here we are.

Tom and I both are passionate about coffee. Tom directed me many years ago to a local roaster and we have been talking coffee ever since. We do not totally agree, in fact, it is a strength how we compliment each other's tastes. 

Our ability to compliment and be open to trusting our process while maintaining our focus on excellent coffee has made Michael Thomas Coffee. We ask ourselves "is that Michael Thomas"? Our answer to this is our direction and a reminder who we are.

Is that Michael Thomas? This, from the beginning, is centered on character statements we as a company strive for: quality, consistency and community.
